Centre Manager

My name is Shelley(Jinhyo) Park from South Korea and I am thrilled to be a part of Kuddles great team. I have had a desire to work with all children since 2006 which I studied Early Childhood Education at University in South Korea. After getting a bachelor degree, I have worked for 4 years in Kindergarten. My position was ahead teacher for 5 classes (approximately 150 children) age group of 4 years old before I left the job. My desire to learn more about children brought me here to Canada in 2015. For instance, Diploma of ‘Teach English to Speaker of Other Languages’ (TESOL) advanced for adults and for children courses prove that I was eager to learn how children acquire new languages especially English. I have graduated Post Basic infant and Toddler program at Vancouver Career College in 2016. Besides, I gain valuable experiences with children because of volunteering and working at various child care facilities in Vancouver. I became a member of Kuddles in West Vancouver since 2017. I have been working with infant and toddler to preschool ages at Kuddles. I am currently taking the Montessori program at Sprott Shaw College. My passion of Early Childhood Education keeps me going further and studying until now. I make strong connections with children and respect all kinds of families and cultures. Having good conversations with children is one of my strong aspect. I strongly value building relationship and getting to know each child in order to present them with the best activities that will be engaging and enjoyable. I like to encourage independence and also peer-to-peer helping. This is my favourite quote by Maria Montessori; ‘The child seeks for independence by means of work; and independence of body and mind. I enjoy having fun and laughs with the children during outdoor activity. I also enjoy promoting creativity through art; introducing messy art is one of my favorite things to do. I would love to attend workshop or exhibition in order to flourish my knowledge on Early Childhood Education when I have free time.
